Outlaw country has been coming in hard the past few years with the rise of independent artists. People are tired of the same old pop filled offerings on mainstream radio and have turned to outlets such as Spotify and social media to find artists that they enjoy. People want some grit in their music and some good ole fashioned hell raisin' attitude. You're going to get that with Dallas Moore's Mr. Honky Tonk.
First things first: Dallas Moore is a savage with all the shows that he has been performing at lately. I read that it's 300+ shows a year, that's a lot of seat time for sure. He calls his split residences between Texas and Ohio, "TEXAHIO" as he is often going back and forth performing. Not only is Moore a biker, but he is a true road warrior and works to share his music with all who will listen.
Mr. Honky Tonk has the glorious classic sound with some nice piano and pedal steel each taking their turn in the spotlight. Moore's seasoned and gruff vocals pair perfectly to these classic country songs. The rowdy cowboy imagined in this song is the guy who is everyone's friend in the bar room. He's the guy that's always having a good time and if you're around him, you can't help be swept up by his energy. From swinging around on the dancefloor (despite having no dance skills) to buying rounds for all the patrons, you can tell he takes a commanding presence. Guys want to be him and the women are naturally drawn to him. He's the king of the bar every night he is there.
This infectious country tune is Moore's leading track off his upcoming album this fall. I have been impressed with his work and believe he will be coming up the chain behind other outlaws, Cody Jinks, Whitey Morgan, and Ward Davis. This style of music is on the rise and many like myself are hungry for it. Moore has not only the ability, but the fierce take-no-prisoners determination to make some waves in the country scene -most recently taking home the Ameripolitan "Outlaw Group of the Year" for 2017.
Watch out, because Dallas and the boys are coming in quick... Raisin' hell and Slingin' Gravel with their new (yet to be titled) EP due out Fall of 2017.
Follow Dallas Moore on social Media... you aren't going to want to miss this next release!
Just a Massachusetts guy supporting Texas and other independent country/Americana artists.
