By diving head first into my music sharing hobby, I have expanded my music library like I never would have dreamed. It’s challenged me to always look for new artists and appreciate the different styles that are not heard on mainstream radio. Sometimes the artists can have such a different style that it might be shocking to your musical processing system. You aren’t “ready” for their sound yet. But it’s normal to me to experience that. Sometimes I bookmark an artist and revisit them at a later date – often discovering that I enjoy their music very much. Here are 10 artists that I came across in 2017 that I would encourage you to explore yourself and expand your music library.
Michaela Anne is going to wow you. I am still so blown away by her music and left scratching my head how I wasn’t familiar with her music prior to a few weeks ago. Her 2016 album Bright Lights and the Fame is a perfect mix of the higher tempo honky tonk sounds and those slower ballads she sings so darn well. I felt that kicking the album off with Living Without You fit the bill nicely allowing the rise and fall of the rest of the album. She has been one of my go-to artists since finding her work and believe her career is just waiting to explode.
Favorites: Bright Lights and the Fame, Won’t Go Down, Luisa (featuring Rodney Crowell), Liquor Up, and Worrying Mind
