Capturing the working class in their latest video, the Scooter Brown Band is continuing to hit all the right notes and are establishing themselves as a strong contender in the southern rock scene. If you’re looking to see some lifted Powerstrokes in this video, I think you will be severely disappointed.
Scott Brown and his band have come to their own this year with their release of their album, American Son. It feels like the first comprehensive album that they have released that follows a strong musical theme. At times in their past music, I was unsure of the direction they were looking to take. Some of that could be credited to how well produced American Son is compared to their previous works. Regardless of the exact reasoning, it is a strong entrance that I’m sure will have their name being brought up as a force to be reckoned with in Southern Rock.
Having already dug into the title track, you can read all my thoughts here.
The video for American Son highlights those that make up the backbone to our country. From oil workers and welders, to farmers and bankers, we are all the people that make up this country. It doesn’t matter what you choose for your career path. We are all given the ability to choose what we want in life because we are blessed to be free. We aren’t told by our government that we can’t be a teacher. Within reason, we have the right to pick the path most fulfilling to us. It’s powerful and unfortunately it’s something many people have forgotten. American Son is not meant to be a song about division, but rather a reminder that we are all in this together and our freedom comes at a price. It’s easy to take it for granted, but when it’s too late…it’s gone.
Give it a watch below and be sure to check out the rest of this excellent album. Seriously, it’s impressive.
